New Year's day in Philippines

New Year's day in Philippines or we say that Bagong Taon, are celebrated at the middle of the night called Bisperas ng bagong taon and celebrated together with the family and lots of food on the table called media noche(counterpart of noche buena) they have round shaped foods, and 12 round shaped various kinds of fruits and which are the most include lechon baboy(suckling roasted pig) at the middle on the table. Adults and Children light the firecrakers and fireworks, there are many different kinds of fireworks, like sinturon ni Hudas for small children watusi. Before the midnight the fireworks and firecrakers start. The New Year makes our celebration noisy and colorful and full of enjoyment coz the other year come.

In the other, there are also practices some people do, which are bring fortune, good luck, prosperity in the new year, some people jump at exactly 12 midnight, as they believed that they will make them grow taller, some people of their house keeping lights on, for more luck and bright future for a year and eating 12 round shaped fruits. People say that is how your whole year will be like.
